A - My husband. He's is wonderful! He is the composting king! Every night, he puts on his head-lamp and takes our produce trimmings out to the compost bin. If they are in too big of chunks, he will chop them up so they break down easier. Lately, he has been lining our sidewalk to the alley with bricks! Every brick is perfectly level and straight! It looks so good! The other night, Caleb made Split Pea Soup for us and it was AMAZING! (If you want the recipe, let me know!) Caleb and I are just absolutely loving married life! Who knew it could be so great? We have so much fun together and are madly in love!......Blessed.
B - Family: We have incredible parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, relatives, etc. We are so thankful for all of the love and support they provide, and their encouragement and wisdom carry us more than they will ever know. Both of our parents have already visited us here in GJ! What a blessing! Both times when Caleb and I were heading to the airport to pick them up, we both couldn't stop smiling! It was funny that we were so giddy! Ha! We were just so excited to see them, to show them this awesome town, and show them our first house! Our grandparents are wonderful! Their tenderness and love is so heartwarming. We cherish every conversation we have with them. Our brothers are great! I have always looked up to my brother, and I don't think this will ever change. He is so strong and full of wisdom, it's incredible. I always learn so much from him everytime we talk. I know Caleb feels the same about Eric, even though he's younger. I love listening to them talk and laugh together. They have a deep laugh they both do only with each other. It's great! I love that through Chris and Eric I have gained two sisters! They have each touched me in so many ways, and I just wish we lived closer to each other! I am so thankful for Britteny and Melody....Blessed.
C - Our Savior: Each day I am reminded about God's grace and faithfulness. My mom and dad and cousin, Clayton, were baptized a few weeks ago. How awesome it that!?! There have been so many prayers and God heard them. This is truly a lesson about God's faithfulness as well as His timing! So many praises lifted up! I am in awe each morning I step outside and admire God's creation. He is so creative!
D - Friends: When we first moved here, it didn't take long for me to miss having girl friends. Thank goodness for technology! Stacey - your texts bring smiles to me daily! I look forward to them each morning! And your encouraging words and crazy comments brighten my day! Emails and phone chats with Mom, Donna, Karen, Britteny, Jordan, Ashley, Stacey, Angela, and everyone else are wonderful! It doesn't feel like we are miles aways from everyone. Imagine what it would be like without cell phones and email! I am so thankful for these wonderful women in my life!.....Blessed.
E - Grand Junction: We LOVE it here! There is so much to do, and we have met so many great people! Hmmm...I think I need a separate list for Grand Junction awesomeness:
- We went mountain biking the past two Wednesday nights and this will become a weekly gathering with some other locals. The trails are awesome here! This week Caleb's boss and co-worker came, and their wives are planning on coming next week! So far, both trails have only been ten minutes from the house!...Blessed.
- We tried cross-country skiing for the first time a couple weeks ago on the Grand Mesa. It was like hiking with skis. Peaceful, relaxing yet still hard work, and being surrounded by pure and untouched creation. Greatness.....Blessed.
- We have family just outside Vail, so we were able to spend a great weekend with them as well as ski two days! We also bought the Epic Pass for next year, which is unlimited skiing at Vail, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Heavenly! Can't wait!....Blessed.
- New friends: Recently we had a wonderful couple over for dinner, Jessica and Chris, which was so much fun, and then the following night we went to our neighbor's for dinner, Barbara and Mitch, also so much fun! Also, we have new next door neighbors, and they are in their late-twenties! Yay for making new friends!....Blessed.
- Our house! So I'm in love with our house. I love the old trim over the doors. I love the hardwood floors. I love our enclosed front porch. I love all the windows! I love that we are walking distance to Main Street. I love that we rarely go a day with out talking to our neighbors. And I love all of the improvements we have already made. Yes, there are times I wish we could hire a crew to finish our yard in a weekend, but then I wouldn't appreciate it as much. And it really is fun playing in the yard, but shoveling rocks isn't really my idea of "playing." Regardless, it's great and we are loving it!....Blessed.
- Nepal Restaurant: Yep, the owners and waiters know us. :) Caleb and I have always wanted to find a restaurant where we become regulars. We did it! Nepal is great! We usually split the Chicken Kawab, which is like sizzling fajitas but with indian spices instead. We had to adjust to their culture, though. At first, we would go there starving and usually in a hurry (as most Americans seem to be). Well, these folks are very relaxed. They will clear our table after we are finished eating, and we won't get our check for another fifteen minutes. It had been a good lesson for us because lately we seem to have our best conversations over dinner at Nepal....Blessed.
- River of Life: We love our church! We visited many churches when we moved here and really kept praying for God to lead us to the right church for us to grow and serve in. We went to a church where everyone was over 60. It was so sweet having little old ladies get out of the church pew and walk over to greet us. One even said she enjoyed my singing! Ha! I don't even enjoy my singing! But River of Life is fantastic! There are about 200 people in each service. When Pastor Rob speaks, he always asks questions and expects feedback from the congregation. It's great! He always encourages us to read the scripture for next week's lesson as well as the importance of quiet time. Recently, we all wrote down two names that we would commit to praying for this summer and then pinned it to a wooden cross. It was a beautiful thing to see all of these people that we would be praying over. We have already met so many people and hardly feel new at all.......so Blessed!
- There are so many other wonderful things about Grand Junction, but it would take too long to list. Caleb and I are so thankful that God led us here. We don't know how long we will live in GJ, but we do know that it is a fantastic chapter in our life. It's hard to believe how awesome it's been in only three months, and we are looking forward to everything else to come!......Blessed.
Yep, life is good! We're happy! We are so thankful for everything! Hope I didn't bore you bragging about how great everything is! Here are a few recent pictures:
Skiing at Vail...got me a new helmet! Safety first!

On our way back to GJ from the Grand Mesa, we had to stop because of all the cows in the road. Stampede!
