So it's been forever since I last gave an update on our adventures! We have been to San Antonio and Fort Worth for lots of weddings, which has allowed us to spend time with family, thankfully. We were out of town almost every weekend for a couple of months. But lately, since we've been in town, we have been VERY busy with yard and house work. (Pictures to come!) Also, Caleb and I joined a coed softball team, so we play every Thursday night. My husband is a star! He's the best left-fielder ever! I have been active in Junior Service League, mostly with planning Walk 4 Life, which is coming up in October, and I went to my first Book Club meeting last night...so fun! Here are some pictures from the past couple of months!
We visited Donna's cousin, Melinda, and her family in Edwards, which is about 20 miles outside of Vail, for 4th of July weekend. Caleb and I went mountain biking with Tim, Melinda's husband. We rode 17.5 miles up and over a ski mountain, and the first 8 miles were straight uphill! I couldn't breath for the first hour of riding. Great fun!! We went to a wonderful fireworks display in Avon Friday night. And Saturday we went to the parade in Vail Village. I spotted Ryan and Trista from the Bachelorette...and yes, I became a pathetic star-struck, paparazzi freak....and I'm thankful I took pictures. :)
Chilling under blankets during the fireworks.
Sweet Aunt Dorris was also in town visiting Melinda. We had so much fun people watching together! :) Dorris and Mimi are definitely sisters!!!
Caleb, Dorris, and Christopher.
Caleb and I went hiking one afternoon in Ouray with Frank (Caleb's boss), Mel, and Madi. We hiked a Fourteener (14,000 ft elevation), Mt. Snuffles :) but we only made it to about 13,800 ft. It was still plenty of elevation for us! The views were breathtaking. We truly enjoy admiring God's creativity and majesty!
Caleb and I are thinking about going for a short backpacking trip this weekend. It's pretty hot here in the valley, so we would like to escape the heat! We've also been so busy with traveling and yard work that we haven't been able to explore the area too much. We definitely need to take advantage of our surroundings!
